" Panda Cloud Office Protection "

One of the top 10 largest managed pub companies in the UK, Barracuda Pub Group has selected Panda Security’s Panda Cloud Office Protection to protect and control 200 outlets, 80 roaming laptop users and additional 35 head office employees.

Barracuda needed a solution to work efficiently with the Blackspider antispam product and one that did not interfere with its EPOS system, as had previously occurred.

Panda Cloud Office Protection has been implemented across the network with minimal interruption and queries were swiftly dealt with by the Panda UK technical support team.

“One issue was identified in early testing where the deployment tool needed minor updates to work with our custom proxy settings,” says Mark Gurney, IT Manager for the Barracuda Pub Group.

“Having experienced products from a number of various suppliers, Panda’s most significant differentiator is the focus on providing a service rather than just a product,” he adds.

Panda Cloud Office Protection is the endpoint solution protection of Panda Cloud Protection, a cloud based security solution, delivered in a Security as a Service model that provides complete protection services for the major threat vectors: endpoint, email and web.

Since installing Panda, Barracuda has noticed a reduction in time and resources in protecting users and on-going maintenance is almost non-existent. “The automatic reports showing intrusions stopped and graphs assure us the protection is working,” says Gurney.

Panda Cloud Office Protection offers ease of use, detection capabilities of 100percent of known and unknown malware threats and full visibility of all systems at a single glance through the console.

Today, most existing virus protection products are difficult and expensive to deploy and manage. They can slow down the systems on which they are installed, and often provide inadequate security. • Complexity – no more antivirus servers or VPNs needed.

Panda Security launches version 3.3.0 of Panda Cloud Email Protection

–       Includes powerful new features aimed at improving protection and further simplifying administration

–       Panda’s cloud security revenue has increased 65% with respect to 2009, exceeding market forecasts

Global IT vendor Panda Security has launched the new version 3.3.0 of Panda Cloud Email Protection. The new cloud solution is delivered as SaaS (Security-as-a-Service), and aimed at protecting and cleaning corporate email from the cloud. It includes powerful new features designed to improve protection and further simplify the task of administering the solution from the central console.

This new version allows automatic user management and data synchronization via LDAP and SMTP. It also includes powerful password control to safeguard the internal strength of the corporate network by ensuring user-created passwords are strong.

The solution also allows asynchronous downloading of logs of the action taken on each type of mail, so they can be analyzed and followed up. Security administrators can now restrict access to mail content by domain administrators, either from the mail logs or from the user panels in the centralized management console.

All current Panda Cloud Email Protection clients will be able to access the new version at no additional cost.

Cloud Security: A segment where growth outstrips market forecasts

The Panda Cloud Protection product line has grown way above the cloud-based service sector average. Revenue from these products increased 65% over the last year and now accounts for 15% of the company’s total worldwide revenue. In fact, Panda expects this figure to reach 20% by the end of 2011.

These figures are in contrast with the growth of revenue from SaaS services as a whole, which accounted for just 10% of total security service sales in 2009, with market research companies such as Infonetics predicting that the figure will not reach 20% until 2014.

Panda Cloud Protection managed security suite

Panda Cloud Email Protection is included in the Panda Cloud Protection cloud-managed security suite. This cloud-based solution offers maximum protection, cost reduction and increased productivity. The solution can be deployed in just a few minutes and is managed simply through Panda’s unique, intuitive cloud-based administration console.

Panda Cloud Internet Protection is sold on its own or as part of the Panda Cloud Protection suite, completing the cloud-based security lineup of Panda Security. The company’s SaaS offer now covers all major infection vectors: workstations and servers are protected with Panda Cloud Office Protection; corporate email with this new version of Panda Cloud Email Protection, and the Internet by Panda Cloud Internet Protection.

Panda Security’s innovative cloud solutions have received numerous international awards and recognition, including the Wall Street Journal Technological Innovation award and the Cinco Días award for business innovation.

Panda Security Opens New Cloud Business Unit in Silicon Valley

New division led by security software industry veterans from Panda and Symantec to focus on aggressive market development and expansion of company’s cloud-based solutions

Panda Security has announced the formation of a new Cloud Business Unit that will focus on further accelerating worldwide growth around its cloud-based security services for consumers, small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) and resellers. The new unit will build on a strong momentum with Panda Cloud Antivirus, the world’s fastest growing consumer cloud security service. The group will also focus on market development and expansion for Panda Cloud Protection, featuring Panda Cloud Office Protection, Panda Cloud Email Protection and Panda Cloud Internet Protection for SMBs.

Headquartered in California the Cloud Business Unit will focus initially on the US market, and will collaborate closely with Panda Security USA, based in Orlando, Fl., to support the company’s continued expansion within the United States.

The Panda Cloud Protection product line has also grown well above the industry average growth rate for cloud-based security services. Income from these products grew 65% over the previous year and now represents 15% of the company’s total worldwide revenues. Panda expects this number to exceed 20% by the end of 2011. This compares to industry-wide revenue growth for SaaS, which made up only 10% of total security services revenue in 2009.

“Small and medium businesses are looking for security solutions that will protect them from the more than 55,000 new threats created daily, without slowing down their systems or requiring much maintenance,” says Juan Santana, CEO, Panda Security.  “Panda Security’s cloud solutions were designed to address both the needs of SMBs as well as our channel partners who serve them. The world class team we’ve built in Silicon Valley combined with our aggressive go-to-market, positions Panda very well to capitalize on the growth opportunity within the cloud”, he concludes.

Rick Carlson, president of Panda Security USA is confident of Panda’s success. “Panda Security is well positioned in the United States to take a big piece of the SaaS market with its best-in-class cloud products, support, and channel partner program”, he states. “The Orlando headquarters will benefit greatly by having a team on the ground in Silicon Valley to elevate the Panda brand even further and build on the strong foundation we already have established with SMBs and their managed service providers.”

Panda Security launches new version of Panda Cloud Office Protection

Global IT Vendor Panda Security has launched version 5.04.50 of Panda Cloud Office Protection (PCOP), its cloud-based security solution for corporate endpoints.

“The new version includes a host of new features and improvements which provides companies with an even more effective solution for malware detection and prevention”, says Jeremy Matthews, head of Panda’s sub-Saharan operations.

One of the version’s top new features is its compatibility with Office 2010, as well as its ability to scan the email messages stored in Windows Live Mail. It also incorporates new technologies to prevent infections from unknown malware. These technologies are capable of blocking threats even if the user is offline at the time of detection (identification processes take place in the cloud), or if the malware strain is new. Automatic verdicts are also returned directly, indicating whether the file is malware or goodware.

The new PCOP also contains a small signature file that only includes data about the most active malware every day. These file updates are truly automatic and do not require administrator intervention to deploy and implement them on every workstation on the network.

Since Panda Security started selling its cloud-based security suites last year, the company has achieved growth ratios well above the market average. In 2009, the company’s worldwide growth in this market segment reached 122% (compared to 2008), accounting for 20% of the company’s corporate revenue. This outstanding growth reflects the many benefits that a cloud-based security solution provides to clients.

Panda Cloud Office Protection can be sold separately or as part of the Panda Cloud Protection suite. This new solution complements Panda Security’s cloud-based, SaaS security products covering the main infection vectors: endpoints and servers (Panda Cloud Office Protection); corporate email (Panda Cloud Email Protection) and Internet traffic (Panda Cloud Internet Protection).
